Tyana Davis, known to many as Comedian Ty Davis, is a female entertainer based in Baltimore, Maryland. Originally born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, she traveled often and had to adapt and make friends quickly. A large part of her formative years was raised in the south, except for one year in Baltimore when her mother was deployed overseas and three years living abroad in Germany. She was the child of a career Army soldier and often had to change schools and homes because of her mother’s job. She had to constantly leave her friends and make new ones and those changes weren’t always easy. She found a way to cope and be accepted by making people comfortable and happy. Her bubbly personality made her the perfect social butterfly that enjoyed making people laugh and smile, and helped her to survive. In 2001, after her mother retired, they moved to Baltimore where she started her comedic career in 2014.
She never dreamed of being a stand-up comedian but she was always passionate about writing and telling stories. She loves to be the center of attention and uses the comedic platform to carry out her dreams to do both. Many of her friends and family always encouraged her to do stand-up comedy in which she would decline and say, “no that isn’t for me.” She thought being funny in real life was in no way the same as being on stage and performing in front of people. She made a pact jokingly with a friend that they would do an open mic one day and almost three years ago she finally hit the stage. She instantly fell in love and has been performing since then.
As she continues to gain popularity and master her craft, she’s had the opportunity to share the stage with comedian/actor Guy Torry, Drew Fraser, and Benji Brown just to name a few. Ty frequently performs and hosts at The Baltimore Comedy Factory, and hosts a weekly open mic for other up and coming comedians. She’s worked with some of the industry’s top comedians at The Arena Players, one of the oldest historically African-American community theaters in Baltimore, Maryland. She also has several sketch comedy and promo videos to add to her credits. She is the host of The Morning After Show on DTLR Radio Monday through Friday 11am-2pm ET and creative content writer for the DTLR Radio website.
Ty Davis is excited about her upcoming projects, which include on stage comedy performances and acting. She is adding motivational speaking and voice-over work to her credits, along with writing her first autobiographical novel set to be released in the summer of 2018. She aspires to work with Sommore, Monique, Tina Faye, Kevin Hart, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and more. She is headed in the right direction by taking her act on the road up and down the east coast so stay tuned she’ll be coming to your city soon. Ty wants any and everyone to know that it is never too late to pursue your dreams and to always stay true to who you are, live life to the fullest and be fashionable while you do it!
