The Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in game five of the NBA Championship series 129-120, to win the franchise’s fifth NBA title.  It seems the hype was more focused on everything but the game itself.  The massive number of Warriors supporters, or Lebron haters, was overwhelming.  Social media continuously bashed Kevin Durant for his career decision to leave the OKC Thunder to join the team that had 73 wins in the regular season and came back from a 3-1 series deficit that eliminated him just a season prior.  One could argue that he did what he had to do to get his first ring and first ever finals MVP title.  Durant’s finals averages were 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists in the Finals, with a 55.6 field goal percentage. …. but what do I know?  Another trending topic was Wanda Durant’s obvious show of support of her son during his game winning interview.  Facebook and Twitter posts commonly stated that “she was doing too much” but what I saw was a mother being proud of her baby boy unapologetically.  KD has even referred to his mother as the real MVP and I am here for it!  The fact remains that the Warriors are the champions and nothing that is said can change it so congratulations.
