Today, everybody idolize’s Michael Jordan for his unmatched athleticism and killer instinct on the basketball court. What people don’t remember is Michael Jordan scoring and dunking, but always getting beat in the playoffs. That is until he got some help and NBA legend Scottie Pippen hit his prime. Pippen is hands down 1 of the top 50 NBA players who ever lived. Pippen was a two-way guard who could score points and defend your toughest opponent. Pippen had a signature shoe line that continuously released shoes that fit his style and long wingspan. The Nike Air Pippen II embodied who he was as a basketball superstar.
In 1998, Nike was making waves with their Zoom technology that had rumors moving at the speed of light. Nike Zoom cushioning was strategically planted so each step is light with limited impact on your ankles. Majority of the upper is made with white leather which is a luxurious touch. I am in love with the Nike check and side stripe that flows with the shoe. This shimmery red gives the shoe that needed flare to complement the standard black and white. The two top shoe string sockets have a set of metallic wings that symbolizes Pippen speed and matches the silver plate located on the lower sole.
One day, the Nike Air Pippen II should be brought back.
