Where to Buy the Air Jordan 5 Retro “University Blue”

The Air Jordan 5 is back in a brand-new colorway. This upcoming “University Blue” take pays homage to The University of North Carolina – Michael Jordan's alma mater – with a striking blue color scheme straight out of Chapel Hill.

The Air Jordan 5 was first released in 1990, designed by Tinker Hatfield, who was also responsible for the iconic Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4. The shoe features a unique design inspired by World War II fighter planes, with a suede upper, TPU lace locks, and a semi-translucent rubber outsole.

This "University Blue" colorway uses a vibrant shade of blue that pays homage to Jordan’s Tar Heels. The upper is done in baby-blue suede, while Jumpman-branded tongues come in reflective 3M. Down below, the sneaker features black foam midsoles, which house visible Air units in the heels. The heels are accented with Team Jordan jock tags in place of the typical Jumpman embroidery. Clear rubber outsoles complete the look, adding a touch of retro style to the shoe.
