Where to Buy the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Game Royal and Varsity Maize”

Fans of Michael Jordan and his eponymous sneaker label are no doubt familiar with the G.O.A.T.’s early years at Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. As the story goes, Jordan was cut from the Varsity team as a sophomore at the school – an inciting moment that would lead young Mike to become the player we all know today.

Whether or not that tale is completely accurate is up for discussion, but regardless, Laney High School has continued to be a source of inspiration for Jordan and his sneaker line throughout the years. The first “Laney” colorway graced the panels of the Air Jordan 14 Low in 1999. The blue-and-yellow color combination has appeared on many other Jordan models since then and is set to land on the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG later this month.

The upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Game Royal and Varsity Maize” features a leather upper done in the school’s blue and yellow tones, with a white rubber midsole and blue rubber outsole. Classic "Nike Air" branding can be found on the tongue, while the classic "Wings" logo is stamped on the lateral ankle-collar flaps of the shoe.

Its cushioned insole provides support for all-day wear, while the padded collar offers added comfort. The high-top design also offers extra ankle support, making these shoes a great choice for women who are always on the move.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Game Royal and Varsity Maize” will be available on DTLR.com and DTLR stores on February 17th in women’s sizing.
