This Air Jordan 3 Retro Plays for the Washington Wizards

When you think of Michael Jordan, you likely picture him clad in a red-and-black Chicago Bulls uniform. That makes sense, seeing as His Airness became the most recognizable face in basketball – and won six NBA championships – while on the team. But the Bulls aren’t the only squad MJ suited up for.

In the twilight of his NBA career, Jordan signed with the Washington Wizards and subsequently played two full seasons with the team. To put it bluntly, the team stunk, missing the playoffs in each of those two seasons. But his tenure with the D.C.–based team is part of his story, nonetheless.

That portion of Jordan’s journey is the inspiration behind Jordan Brand’s latest release, the Air Jordan 3 Retro “Wizards.” The forthcoming sneaker features a white tumbled leather upper with signature elephant-print overlays on the mudguards, eyestays, and heels. A “Metallic Copper” color is used for the lowermost eyelets and the tongue’s Jumpman logo embroidery. Bright “True Blue” accents appear on the eyelets, interior lining, and heelside Jumpman emblems.

Foam midsoles are split between white and “True Blue” tones and house visible Max Air units in the heels. The colorway is completed with “Cement Grey” rubber outsoles.
