The Nike Ja 1 is Finally Here

Ja Morant’s play on the court is nothing short of electrifying, and his stats back that up. In his short NBA career, the explosive point guard has managed to earn the league’s Rookie of the Year honors, was named the Most Improved Player, and has been selected to an All-Star team. So, it’s no surprise that Nike would fast-track the burgeoning superstar to receive a signature sneaker model. And that’s exactly what happened.

The highly-anticipated Nike Ja 1 is Ja Morant’s first signature basketball model with the brand. It has seen a small number of shock drops since being unveiled earlier this year, but now it’s finally set to release in earnest.

This upcoming colorway sports a breathable open-celled mesh upper in a light “Cobalt Blue” tone. Similarly-colored leather appears on the mudguards and side panels, which add structure for quick lateral movements. From there, TPU Swoosh overlays in a gradient color scheme wrap around the sneaker.

Padded leather tongues display Nike’s new “Ja” logos, while Morant’s jersey number is embroidered onto the heels. Additionally, the colorway features textile heel panels that have “12:AM” repeated throughout the design.

Moving towards the sole, you’ll find bright yellow foam midsole units, which house Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot portions. Pink rubber outsoles tie it all together.
