The Air Jordan 3 Retro “Black Cement” Gets Gold Fronts

Often cited as the greatest Air Jordan sneaker of all time amongst collectors and enthusiasts alike, the “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3 was last retroed in 2018 on Michael Jordan’s 55th birthday. And while it’s unclear when the colorway will be rereleased again, you’ll have a chance to cop something strikingly similar this October.

Jordan Brand’s latest take on the Air Jordan 3 takes everything you love about the original colorway and updates it with shimmering “Metallic Gold” hits. Aptly dubbed the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement Gold,” this women’s colorway features a black tumbled leather upper with classic elephant-print overlays. Like the original, this version also features striking “Fire Red” hits, which color the lowermost eyestays and the tongue’s Jumpman emblems.

However, unlike the OG scheme, this version features perforated “Metallic Gold” leather around the eyelets, ankle collars, and the lower portions of the tongues. The tops of the tongues are done in the same color, but feature solid smooth leather opposed to the perforated kind. The heel panels are emblazoned with black Jumpman emblems to match the TPU heel panels.

In another twist, Jordan Brand opts for cream-colored foam midsoles instead of the standard white midsoles found on the original pair. This new colorway is finished with the same “Cement Grey” rubber outsoles, however.

Are you itching to get a pair? The women’s Air Jordan 3 Retro “Black Cement Gold” will be releasing on DTLR.com and DTLR stores on October 6th. Retail is set at $200.
