Set To Drop: Air Jordan 4 ‘Lemon Venom’

In 2006, BET decided to honor Black women in the lady inspired award show, “Black Girls Rock!”. In 2011, Beyoncé released a women empowerment record turned Summer anthem, “Run the World (Girls)”. These are just a couple of the many groundbreaking hit records, award ceremonies, and now major sneaker release exclusively for made and intended for girls. Obviously, Retro 4 had exclusives for mostly Men’s sizes due to the originator Michael Jordan. The trickle-down effect of sizes was put in place equally, but the colorways weren’t distributed the same. Yes, unisex colorways helped while you’re a kid to have the sneaker. However, girls want styles and colors that express them specifically too. Before basketball became an international phenomenon, it was assumed that girls didn’t play basketball (like Love & Basketball wasn’t back in 2000). Even though the WNBA was founded back in 1996, the league recently began to have a resurgence due to stellar play, profound solitude on social issues, NBA support, and of course the die-hard fans.

Eventually, athletes, actors, musicians, artists, and designers started making silhouettes with females in mind. Maya Moore, Asia Durr, Kia Nurse, and Aleali May is the breath of fresh air that is establishing the female sector of Brand Jordan. From the unisex AJ1 “Shadow Satin” to the female sized AWOK Vogue AJ1 & AJ4 SE, there has been recent inclusion and proper representation. The Retro Air Jordan 4 “Lemon Venom” is a sweet sample of what today’s girl has to look forward to in the future for female sneakers. Little ladies in sizes toddler, little kids, and kids will be able to enjoy this flavorful treat. Buzzing in citrus goodness, Lemon Venom Yellow lights up the curvy vinyl mudguard, triangular elastic band, and tongue logo square. Pink Blast has exploded on the heel notch, exterior wings, and classic mesh netting throughout the upper. Jumpman is leaping in neon delight respectively on the tongue logo and bottom sole. The rest of the shoe is pristine white to finish the Summer off fresh & clean.

The Air Jordan 4 ‘Lemon Venom’ drops 08.14.2020 in-stores and online at DTLR.com.
