A Legend Returns: Air Jordan 13 Retro “Playoffs”

The Air Jordan 13 “Playoffs” was first seen on the feet of Michael Jordan during the 1998 NBA All-Star Game. His Airness continued to don the predominantly-black colorway well into that season’s playoffs, where his Chicago Bulls would ultimately win the NBA Championship, capping off the G.O.A.T.’s second three-peat in eight seasons.

This iconic colorway of Michael’s 13th signature model last saw a retro release back in 2011, but that’s about to change later this month.

Set to hit shelves during this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend, the latest iteration of the Air Jordan 13 “Playoffs” stays true to the OG release with a dimpled black tumbled leather upper and matching suede underlays. The model’s signature holographic cat eye emblem appears on the lateral heels, while padded tongues display red-and-yellow Jumpman embroidery.

Down below, the sneaker features foam midsole “pods” – a nod to panthers’ paws – done in white. Midfoot carbon fiber shank plates provide structure above the red and white rubber outsole units.
