A Closer Look at the Yeezy 350 V2 "Mono Ice"

Historically, we’ve seen the sequel not living up to the original. It infuriates fans because the initial nostalgia that came from the first edition doesn’t transcend over to the next one for whatever reason. However, there’s sometimes lightning in a bottle where the sequel lives up to such high standards. When something that monumental happens, you must give the people what they want in abundance (or in a quick strike for that matter). The Yeezy 350 is a cherished silhouette due to its sleek shape, knitted upper, grooved soles, and overall comfortability. With an assortment of colorways under its belt, it became a fan favorite. However, the V2 edition of the 350 continued where the original left off. Despite the release of the 450, 500, 700, 750, sneakerheads across the board constantly go back to the 350 that they love so much.

Ultimately, Yeezy wants to mass-produced his sneakers around the globe. While Ye is still working on world domination, he’s continuing to give the people what they want by dropping a collection that is exclusive to certain regions on Earth. The “Mono” pack is a colorful trifecta that is being produced for 3 out of the 7 continents. Sculpting the eastern hemisphere is the muted “Mono Clay” color scheme in Asia. Refreshing to the eyes further Northwest is the slated drop of the “Mono Mist” color scheme in Europe. Last but not least, the United States will be receiving the “Mono Ice” color scheme. In regards to the ‘Mono Ice’ colorway, we are getting a familiar silhouette we love with some icy enhancements that are too cool, to say the least. The sheath-style upper is solid with a semi-translucent finish to it. Extraterrestrial in appearance, the blue hue reminds me of an alien sleeping tube from a sci-fi film. Internally is a skeletal caging that is boldly shaped around the main components of the sneaker. Keeping the tradition, the signature side stripes make sure that are rigidly going across from the heel to the toe tip. Rear pull tabs on the back make putting on easy without the need for loosening laces. With the industry-changing Boost technology cushioning underneath, the sneaker is ready to give the world a styling upgrade unlike any other.
