Rapper Meek Mill is no stranger to letting his artistry stand out and this new album cover is no exception.

A piece of art you cannot keep your eyes off of. Meek Mill has chose renowned abstract artist, Nina Chanel Abney to design an original masterpiece for his “Expensive Pain” cover art. The Philadelphia rapper-activist is expressing the “struggles” and liveliness of what the luxurious famous rap life has to offer in this new album. Inspired by Abney’s colorful works of art, this cover shows dice, dollar signs, life rafts, palm trees, boats, cars, etc. This cover art will have you starring at it for hours just to see if you discover some hidden gems that you might’ve missed. The visualization is not just captivating to the eye, but it depicts what the rapper is spitting in his lyrics.

Nina Chanel Abney is an African-American contemporary artist based in New York City. She describes her artwork as “colorfully seductive” and has a way of expressing it through provocative, yet tasteful, features of nudity and sensuality. Not only has her work now been etched into the minds of mainstream modern Hip-Hop and pop culture, but she was recently featured on the cover of the New Yorker in May of 2021. In that issue she discusses the reemergence of social culture in New work City and how the lockdown shaped her work. We can all agree, everything worked out for the best for Abney.
