Right after the release of the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Lightning”, Jordan Brand is hitting us with another sought-after retro colorway that was originally released back in 2013, the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Oreos”. The Oreos were one of the best-selling Jordans in 2013 and now that they are back in 2021, I expect the same sales results as the first release. The premium nubuck uppers give these a super-rich and elegant look. Let’s dive into the details:
As mentioned, the uppers are completely comprised of Black Nubuck which gives the pair a buttery and smooth look. In contrast, the rubber “cage” is White giving the uppers a pop of contrast and color. The lace holders, laces, and tongue are all also Black adding to the Oreo’s stealth look. The lace locks, made famous by the Air Jordan 5’s, are clear and the Jumpman on the tongue is sporting Cool Grey stitching. The midsoles are white and sit atop Ice Blue and Black soles. The “teeth” (as I like to call them) are Black with specs of white.
Overall, the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Moonlight” is clean and simple which makes them the perfect Jordan as we head into the cooler months of the year. You can either rock these on the court or lace them up for a more lifestyle look.
