Set To Drop: Women's Air Jordan 9 "Change The World"

As Jordan Brand pushes towards a retail sneaker wall featuring a better women’s selection, the Women’s Air Jordan 9 Retro “Change the World” is the latest addition. In fact, this is the first time (to my knowledge) that the brand has released a Retro 9 in a Women’s-exclusive colorway.

The pair celebrates MJ’s impact around the world through color, graphics, and language. Let’s first start with the most noticeable, the color. Through natural plant dyes, the uppers are mismatched in color creating a fun and vibrant look. The left shoe sports a black heal that flows into Purple then finishes in a Pastel Blue around the toe. The midsole, ankle lining, and lace eyelets are all colored in Yellow. On the opposite foot, a Pastel Pink (almost slightly Burgundy depending upon the lighting) is used for the heal which then flows into a brighter Pink and finishes off with Burnt Orange around the toe. The midsole, ankle lining, and eyelets are highlighted in a more vibrant Orange giving the shoe a unique contrast. The uppers are constructed of White Leather and feature the famous stitching and dimple work familiar with the 9’s. Both feet feature heal pull tabs with stitching that reads, “Change The World”. The White outsole features scripts and multilingual designs that finish off the nob to MJ’s global impact.

I suspect we will continue to see more and more Women’s exclusive colorways coming out of Jordan Brand which is a great move for the brand.

The Air Jordan 9 Retro “Change The World” Women’s Exclusive will release on Wednesday, March 31st, and will retail for $190 both in-store and online.
