A Closer Look At The Air Jordan 13 “Black Royal”

When Michael Jordan prepared for ‘The Last Dance’, he made sure to shake defenders in style. Slightly pushing off and leaving his jump-shot arm up in the air became an iconic moment in sports history. Winning six titles from consecutive three-peats made MJ the standard of basketball excellence. This also made the Air Jordan 13 a fan favorite due to how memorable that moment in time was.

Despite the Air Jordan 13 has an original colorway fitting for a Chicago Bulls uniform, other variations were made for players. Brand Jordan signee Quentin Richardson wore a PE sneaker that later influenced a public release. Back in 2018, the company dropped a silhouette with a White leather upper with Royal Blue suede.

For the slated 2020 Fall collection, Brand Jordan decided to make a couple of alterations. The upper for example has a Black leather base instead of its predecessor. Textile overlays have a reflective sensitivity to angle and sight. Right by the lateral heel lies a holographic eye sealed in a mood ring bubble. Hairy “Black Royal” is colder than ever around the panels. Underfoot are curvaceous outsoles with a rubber finish. Jumpman is flying all over the tongue logo, insoles, and within the crystallized foot icon.

The Air Jordan 13 “Black Royal” release on December 19, 2020, and retail for $190 USD both in stores and online at DTLR.com
