Set To Drop: New Balance 992 ‘Tropical’

The Summer season is all about relaxation. People in the heart of a global pandemic are social distancing to have fun in the sun. Memories of your toes sinking in the warm sand and hitting the water are what makes this time of the year impossible to stay at home. While some are looking to visit paradise, New Balance has decided to bring paradise to your feet instead.

Behind The Design

New Balance is dropping the long-awaited “Tropical” colorway that is truly mesmerizing to the eye. The upper has a smooth combination of suede/mesh blends to solidify its blue foundation. Similar to Men’s’ dress-shirts, there’s a unique textile collar stripped in Seersucker. Puffy Pink mesh is stitched in with Blue nubuck overlays at the front of the shoe. The toe box is still 3M reflective when exposed to direct light (despite the blue exterior. Teal suede graces the tongue throughout the midsection. In the mid panel lies a Pink ‘N’ outlined in white trim. Following suit, the back heel and heel counter are translucent in Pink as well. Immediately seen underneath is a chunky Tan/White ENCAP support unit. The rubber outsole and insoles are classic Blue. Last but not least, the iconic ‘992’ accented on the tongue and bottom for the finishing touch.

The New Balance 992 ‘Tropical’ will be available Tuesday, September 1, 2020, and retail for $175 USD online only at DTLR.com

Noya

Writing is a craft that LaMon "Noya" Byrams developed at a young age, but never used it on a professional level. After interning at DTLR/VILLA, the company decided to acquire his literary talents to write compelling articles focused on their latest shoes and sneakers.
