Cheer on the young runners from Meadowbrook High in Virginia by reading the latest event recap we were lucky enough to host. On your mark, set, go!
The sound of the starting pistol rang in the air, and there they were, off to the races. For the first time ever, on a comfortable Saturday morning, DTLR hosted the DTLR Track & Field Invitational at Meadowbrook High School in Richmond, Virginia.
DTLR powered by Legion of Zoom, a track club based in Chesterfield, Virginia, hosted a full day of events that attracted over 300 youth participants, ranging from 5 to 18 year old, and 500 spectators. Colts, Mustangs, Panthers, and even the Heat and Lightning (all names of track clubs) traveled from up and down the east coast to compete in events such as the 200, high jump, hurdles, junior discus, long jump, relays and many more.
DTLR’s Community Outreach and Marketing team provided giveaways for spectators, medals for 2nd through 5th place and trophies, encrusted with the DTLR logo for 1st place. A young runner by the name of Alaiyah Choice of the Legion of Zoom track club stole the show as she showed up and showed out as the fastest runner in the 7-8 year old group in the 200 meter dash.
Special thank you goes to ESPN Radio and iPower 92.1 Radio for being on site to stream the event and take on air interviews with participants. Check out some the event footage below:
