New York Times Best Selling, Author D. Watkins, has recently released his third book titled We Speak For Ourselves: A Word from Forgotten Back America.
As a means to promote his new release, he is on a 12 city tour, spreading his message to youth in cities such as Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Oakland and Baltimore.
During his April visit in Baltimore, he challenged Baltimore City Public School student with an essay contest and visited students to host panel discussions with local influencers such as Tiara Laniece of DTLR and Eric and Cuffie of “Nacho Bangers”, a local and very popular black-owned food spot in East Baltimore.
The panel visited Patterson High School, Mergenthaler High School and National Academy Foundation and interacted with the youth by holding discussions, dance contest, providing lunch and autographed copies of the book.
