Get ready for the kicks you’ve always loved to make a comeback.
There is nothing new under the sun. If this phrase is true, then it is a matter of time until a style or trend is bound to come back around. In the early 2000s, I can remember a few popular sneaker brands that still exist today, but hasn’t made the same impact as they once have in the past. With classic brands like Champion and FILA making waves this year, let’s look at a few notable sneaker brands that are waiting to make their way back to the forefront.
This brand definitely was in discussions as one of the coolest kicks to come out during the skateboarding era. With rap artists Lupe Fiasco and Lil Wayne mixing their personal skateboard lifestyle with hip-hop, Supra was in the same class as Vans (at one point). I just hope they decide to retro their Sky Tops line!
In an era where the button up shirt and fitted cap reigned supreme, Creative Recreations was the perfect sneaker to make the outfit complete. The shoe came in a multitude of colors that would put Crayola to shame. And yet, the conservatives design kept the look casual no matter the color choice.
Yes, Reebok managed to reinvent themselves significantly well in my opinion. I just want them to continue releasing signature lines for hip-hop artists as they did for Jay-Z (S. Carter) and 50 Cent (G-Unit’s) in the early 2000’s. Making such a power move shaped the industry as we see it today if you think about it. It’s only right for Reebok to bring back what once took the world by storm.
