A Closer Look at the Air Jordan Retro 1 'Couture'

A bold addition to the iconic Air Jordan 1 makes this retro a must cop.

Continuing with the trend Jordan Brand has been on with the Retro 1 this year, they introduce us their newest offering by way of the new Air Jordan 1 Retro 'Couture'. 1’s have been a staple in the fashion and streetwear community since MJ debuted them back in 1985. Most recently, Jordan Brand’s collaborations with designer Virgil Abloh and his Italian fashion label OFF WHITE dominated the fashion scene with his iterations of the 1’s. Fast forward to this upcoming April, Travis Scott is set to drop his own version of the highly coveted silhouette. Jordan Brand has been welcomed by the fashion scene with open arms and now they are set to drop this new colorway celebrating that very community. Taking obvious inspiration from the Air Jordan 1 “Banned” colorway, this silhouette dons a sleek all black leather upper with a bold red stripe that wraps across the Swoosh logos. The traditional Air Jordan wings logo is pressed into the upper along with a red Nike Air logo on the tongue. Solid black laces and an off-white rubber sole are used to finish off this premium look.

The Air Jordan Retro 1 High OG ‘Couture’ is set to launch Saturday, February 23 in select stores and and online at dtlrvilla.com.
