Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper Unite for Hit Soundtrack

The ‘A Star Is Born’ soundtrack might be just what we all need.

After months of vigorous publicity, anticipations ran high up until the very last moment before the movie “A Star is Born” was released in theaters. This past weekend was the first that moviegoers and fans of the two leading actors would be able to subside their speculations and submerge themselves in the romantic love story.

While this isn’t the first, and probably won’t be the last, remake of the movie, it is certainly one that embodies an accurate depiction of the times with drug/alcohol abuse, celebrity, love, family, insecurities, and suicide at the forefront of the movie’s plot. First time director and leading actor Bradley Cooper, thoughtfully fulfilled his due diligence to the classic film while recruiting a living icon, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (Lady Gaga), to amplify the movies passion through her carefully crafted character and lyricism as well as her extravagant vocals.

“A Star is Born” intertwines in so many interesting ways and while it can be debated that the story cannot live on without the music, the same can be said vice versa. Bradley Cooper, who has a hidden voice and genuine songwriting ability, blew his performance out of the water. Tapping into a deep southern accent gave Cooper a stellar identity and seductive sound far from his own when performing throughout the movie. He was also able to work closely with a powerhouse he recruited for the movie named Lady Gaga; the two were able to compile a completely original soundtrack to magnify the intense storyline.

The soundtrack, released on October 5th, includes 34 individual tracks that are extremely raw and includes dialogue from various scenes in the movie. Each and every song ranges in its genre, whether rock, country, pop or even a combined effort. It is clear that Bradley and Gaga took special care when writing each song and didn’t cut corners during the process, allowing each song to be able to stand tall in comparison to any other music out today. What is great about the music they were able to contribute, is that none of the songs come off cheesy or show tunes like. The soundtrack is authentic and truly radio/streaming ready for every day consuming.

With that being said, this soundtrack is headed for the number one spot on the Billboard 200 this week. If the soundtrack is able to reach that accomplishment, it would be only the third movie album to do so in 2018. The accomplishment would also be Lady Gaga’s fifth time at the top and Bradley Cooper’s first.

The two truly outdid themselves for this movie. There is something to be said for actors that can truly consume themselves in the characters at hand and be able to draw the eyes of viewers into scenes with them. Much of the movie felt like a concert and the viewers were the biggest fans front and center. As emotions ran high and low moviegoers willingly followed suit.

Whether the previews grasp you or not, Cooper did such a fantastic job directing that it allowed the movie to have a little something for everyone. The inclusive film is truly incredible and surpasses giving justice to the past movies.
