A major victory for the NFL underdogs happened last night as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship game after a 38-7 demolition. What’s next for the birds, you ask? Oh, just headed to Super Bow LII against the New England Patriots. No big deal.
The Eagles know what is at stake in two weeks in Minnesota. They could bring home the Lombardi Trophy to a championship-starved city. It would cement their status in Philadelphia, forever.
After the team lost their star quarterback Carson Wentz to a season-ending knee injury last month, hopes for a championship were a little weary. But, the undefeated quarterback Nick Foles shut shit down last night, and played an flawless game leading the Eagles back to their first Super Bowl since the 2004 season. Foles stands as a true hero to the City of Brotherly love, for sure.
As one can only imagine, Philly’s pandemonium was bananas! Police had to Crisco poles in the streets prior to Sunday’s game to prevent fans celebrating the victory from climbing and hanging from the structures. It wasn’t completely fool-proof, and the party lasted well into Monday morning in downtown Philadelphia following the victory against the Vikings. For more highlights on the victory, head to ESPN.com.
