The Rap Game Has Just Begun
ICYMI: Lifetime’s series The Rap Game season 3 crowned 16-year-old rapper phenomenon, Nova, as So So Def’s newest artist. The show centered around 5 talented young rappers with dreams of becoming the next rap God. These young talents are also being mentored by Executive Producer and musical legend, Jermaine Dupri. While battling it out against each other on a weekly basis, their minds were always on that golden ticket—that So So Def gold chain and recording contract. Nova, against fiery competition, was crowned the chosen one in the Rap Game of Thrones when it was all over.
Big Talent, Small Town
Nova is a native of VILLA’s small-hometown and founding city, Reading, PA. He grew up with the VILLA culture and continues to be a part of the movement every day. As we can attest, sometimes the biggest talents come from the smallest cities. This kid is definitely bringing back some VILLA nostalgia and we are so so proud to say we share the stage with such greatness.
But let’s not forget about his talent. Nova’s fast, tongue-twisting way of rapping and socially conscious freestyles sets him apart from all the young rappers out there today. More important, he’s surrounded by great mentors while his uncle and manager, Ekko, keeps him humble and grounded in this tough industry. It’s safe to say Nova is setting the right path to becoming a lyrical genius.
The Fashion Game
It’s one thing to have the talent, but the looks are also a major key when you’re a performing artist. Clearly, Nova is no stranger to this rule. He sat with us to tell us his passion for fashion and why it’s important in the music industry. This young protégé is stylish on all levels and we can’t wait to follow his journey.
