Nike Air Max Day Collection 2017

Kicking its way into sneaker culture in 1987, the Air Max 1 redefined the footwear paradigm. The Air Max quickly became revolutionary, spreading from sport to sport and becoming a coveted lifestyle product across the globe. It metamorphosed the whole shoe game and gave a whole new meaning to ‘Air.’ That’s why Nike annually celebrates the originally drop with a mix of retros, remixes and innovations.

On March 26, 2017, we observe Air Max Day as the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 1. To kick off the festivities, the collection reintroduces the OG Nike Air Max 1 and reveals long-awaited sneaks like the Nike Air Vapor Max, Nike Air Max 1 Ultra and Nike Air LD-Zero, just to name a few. This motley crew of a batch proves the potential of Air has never been stronger at Nike.

Air Max LD-Zero “Wolf Grey”

This one is a beauty. Created for Air Max Day 2016 by legendary streetwear designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, the LD-Zero mixes a clean upper inspired by the 70s-era Nike LD1000 with the 360 Air Max unit that debuted in 2006. The result is an original design that merges classic style with modern comfort.

Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 “Elevated Icon”

To celebrate 30 years of Air Max 1, the Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 arrives. Recognized as the most innovative Air Max 1 to date, cored-out ultra-tooling helps make it one of the lightest Air Max models ever. The “3.26” placed on the tongue marks the anniversary of the original.

Air Vapormax “Platinum”

Welcome to the rebirth of Air. With a flexible Flyknit upper atop a radically reinvented Air cushioning system, the Nike Air VaporMax reignites the Air Revolution, delivering a sensation underfoot that seems to defy gravity.

The Air Max 1 atmos was the undisputed winner of the Air Max Day 2016 Vote Back campaign. The collaboration spliced a staple Nike motif with meticulous color blocking to highlight the subtle jade Swoosh. Co-created by famed Japanese retailer, Atmos, this sneaker was originally part of the “Zoo Pack,” released in 2006.
